Dorothy Klein, 73

Wednesday March 3, 2010 Dorothy Klein, 73, of Troy, (Armenia Twp.) and formerly of Nazareth, PA, passed away at home while surrounded by family. She was called home to heaven on Tuesday morning, February 23, 2010.

Born on May 28, 1936 in Petersville, PA, Dorothy Marie was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Schmall) Hanzl. She was a 1954 graduate of Northampton High School. In earlier years, she worked for Western Electric in Allentown. On January 22, 1960, Dorothy married Floyd Klein in the Kreidersville Church; they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this last January.

She was of the Catholic faith. She will be lovingly remembered as a woman who told it as she saw it and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor.

Caring for home and her family’s welfare were most important to Dorothy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In 1993, the Kleins moved to Bradford County where favorite times were spent watching wildlife and being outdoors. Dorothy was a talented cook and enjoyed making crafts. Throughout the years, she shared a special love for her dogs and cats.

In addition to her husband Floyd, surviving are children; Diane (Wynn) Umstead of Nazareth, PA, Lee (Ruthie) Klein of Standing Stone, PA and David (Rachael) Klein of Milan, PA., step-children; Ronald (Sylvia) Klein of Easton, PA and Anita (Ronald) DeBona of Estero, FL, grandchildren; Zachary and Ashley Umstead, Naydia and Shane Klein, Gina and Matt DeBona, great grandchildren; Anthony Yanuzzi and Alexis DeBona, a brother and sisters; Frank Hanzl and wife Rose of Egypt, PA, Loretta Zellers of Kunkletown, PA and Donna Livermon and Jusband Steven of Walnutport, PA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Calling hours will be 6 to 7 pm Thursday at Pepper Funeral Home, Springbrook Drive, Canton. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be 11 am Friday, February 26, in the Klein Family Cemetery, Armenia Township.

The family also will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm Sunday, February 28, at the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 East 21st St., Northampton, PA. A memorial service will follow at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box 179 Ulster, PA 18850.
